What is it about football that makes the whole world stop to watch a big match on TV? This question goes far beyond numbers, but to begin with, let’s look at some data: according to FIFA, there are around 1.7 million teams and over 301,000 football clubs across the globe. Impressive, isn’t it?
But after all, what does this have to do with the Sertão? The answer may surprise you: everything.

Football that speaks to the heart
Football doesn’t just speak with the feet. On the contrary, it speaks through passion, belonging, and dreams that cross generations. However, in the Sertão, this passion goes even further: it turns into real opportunities.
More than just scoring goals, the project teaches values like discipline, teamwork, and self-esteem – fundamental ingredients for building a better future.
And it doesn’t stop there: the football field, even when made of dirt, is also a classroom. It’s there that friendships, learning, and above all, hope are born. After all, those who play on a dirt field dream big – and learn that football opens paths far beyond the four lines.
Finally, transformation through football in the Sertão only happens thanks to the support of those who believe.

Over 70,000 hours dedicated to transforming lives
For those who believe that football is just a sport, however, the numbers show a different reality: over 10 years of the project, there have been more than 70,000 hours dedicated to football and around 2,000 students directly impacted.
Moreover, children, teenagers, and young people now have the chance to build a different future, while developing their gifts and talents in a healthy and inspiring environment.
That’s why, with the support of Instituto Novo Sertão, football has become a powerful tool for social transformation. Every day, new stories begin to be written, always grounded in the same values: respect, education, and love for the sport.

Football and social transformation go hand in hand
If every dribble represents courage, every goal is the result of effort, and every training session is a lesson in perseverance, just imagine the power of all this in the life of a child growing up in the Sertão. Thanks to sport, many have the opportunity not only to dream – but also to achieve.
And transformation doesn’t happen on its own. It depends on those who believe that football can truly change lives.
That’s why we say: share, support, and donate.Together, we can keep bringing hope, values, and opportunities to those who need them most.
