That’s exactly how, back in 2015, the Novo Sertão Institute, with the purpose of transform realities, awaken potential and generate opportunities in the heart of the Northeastern hinterland.
Since then, every step taken has been guided by faith, hope and a commitment to building a better future.

The first steps of a major transformation (2015–2017)
It all started in 2015, when the Institute was formalized and the first projects began to come to fruition.
Soon after, in 2016, the first transformative initiatives: FutSertão, Literacy e Guitar. These projects paved the way for the social, educational and cultural development de crianças e jovens da região.
In 2017, the Sertão gained new colors and expressions with crafts Meu Mandacaru and the group of Teatro. Thus, art became a powerful form of hope and strengthening of the sertanejo identity.
Growth and new partnerships (2018–2020)
Over the years, the Instituto Novo Sertão has grown, and new opportunities have emerged. In 2018, ballet classes began, along with a significant partnership with the Edmilson Foundation, which has expanded the reach and impact of the projects.
After that, in 2019, the Young Entrepreneur Contest in Sertão encouraged innovative ideas and awakened the entrepreneurial spirit among young people.
Finally, in 2020, the sound of the Symphonic Band began to echo through the communities, bringing music, culture and transformation wherever it went.
From the field to innovation (2021–2023)
Starting in 2021, the Institute expanded its operations into rural areas, strengthening Family Farming.
From this effort came the birth of Quitanda dos Quintais, which boosted the income of dozens of rural families and promoted conscious consumption.
Then, in 2022, the first Missionary Listening took place, bringing hearts and purposes together for the same ideal: transforming the Sertão with love and action.
Soon after, in 2023, came the Digital Inclusion course and the start of construction on the Institute's new headquarters, a milestone that symbolizes growth, structure, and hope.
New times, same purposes (2024–2025)
The following years were full of innovation and new possibilities.
In 2024, the Inova Sertão course was launched to foster local leadership and encourage social entrepreneurship. The Institute also participated in the "The Wall" program, bringing the name and strength of Sertão to all of Brazil.
Finally, in 2025, accordion classes and FutSertão Feminino began, initiatives that broaden horizons and celebrate the protagonism of the Sertão, showing that the Sertão has a voice, talent and determination.
A decade of faith, work and transformation
From a dream born in 2015 until today, it has been 10 years of faith, work and transformation.
